As a child, I was enchanted by stories of the Great Wall of China. Mrs. Hookway, my first-grade teacher, described it as a monumental barrier, stretching thousands of miles, built to keep the Mongolians out. That image stayed with me for years, and finally, my dream came true as I hiked the Jingshaling Section. This panoramic image showcases the wall's epic journey, undulating over hills and valleys. Stepping onto this ancient marvel wasn't just a visit; it was the realization of a lifelong aspiration, and its grandeur far exceeded my childhood imagination. Photo © copyright by Rich Voninski.
