Self Portrait
Roussillon, France
As we just return from our trip (we returned last night from Nice, France) I reflect on the >1000 miles we drove and the places we visited and the people we met. My heart is heavy as I think about the recent tragedy in Paris and now understand how the people of France lead and live their lives. They 'get it' and understand what the real priorities are in life. Enjoying the moment and the simple things in life, family, a great glass of wine (which is cheaper than 'a Coke') even just simply sitting at a street cafe enjoying my morning cafe au'lait and croissant and watching life go by. We started in Lyon then headed into Chamonix and finished the bulk of the trip in the countryside of Provence. This image is a self portrait in one of the many 'hill towns' in rural Provence.
